Latest News from CRC dated 12-12-2012 ... FITNESS TRAINING CLASSES Cansa Recreation Club is conducting Fitness Training Classes free for a month which will be later charged at a nominal rate. This idea was brought to us by Mr.Cliff Sequeira. Classes were held in Cansa Recreation Club on Sunday 9th. December 2012 and conducted by experts Miss Lizza Cardozo and Miss Priya Vernekar There were about 40 young and old participants that took part. Classes wil continue to be held on Tuesdays and Fridays every week. Depending on the response we will continue the Classes till all of Cansa is fit and healthy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ANNUAL REPORT OF ACTIVITIES for the year 2011-2012 The 43rd Annual General Body Meeting of CRC was held on 29th May 2011 after being adjourned for 30 minutes. This Committee took upon themselves to celebrate the 43rd Anniversary of the Club on 15th August 2011 as the first item on the itinerary. On this day as usual Mass was celebrated followed by Entertainment. Children who have passed SSCE, HSCE and Graduation during the Scholastic year 2010 - 2011 were felicitated. Based on the marks obtained, awards were distributed, Scholarships for Students who had the highest aggragate marks in IXth and XIIth were given Scholarships sponsored by Mr. Cliff Sequeira and Fly. As part of the Entertainment, a program of Music and Ballroom dancing with 16 children from Cansa were trained by Mrs. Lobo of Podvaddo this was highly appreciated by all present. Indoor Sports Tournament was held from 15th July 2011, there were approximately 15 participants. The 43rd Annual day programme was well attended and enjoyed by one and all. The Chief guest for the occasion was Mr. Nilkant Harlankar (Tourism Minister), besides other guest of honours. The following Christmas programme was chalked out and executed successfully from 10th Dec to 1st January 2012. 1. Serenading 2. Star competetition 3. Crib competetition 4. Truk Mela 5. Food for Old age Home, home for the homeless and Orphanage at Madel 6. Coffee Session after midnight Mass was held 7. Sports and Games was held on 1st January 2012 A new Tennis Table was sponsored by Mr. Nilkant Harlankar (Tourism Minister) A new Steel cupboard was sponsored by a well wisher A Tiatr "Bhurgem Jivit" was organised in the Club on 11th February 2012 and sponsored by Sebastian Fernandes from Casant vaddo.This Tiatr was well attended The external surface of the entire Club was painted to give it a fresh new look As the Picnic could not be held during Christmas Season, it was scheduled for 1st May 2012 and all the children who participated in different CRC events were given free Picnic. During this year only one person was enrolled as Life Member. The present Managing Committee is grateful to all members, well wishers and benefactors, for their overwhelming support and financial contribution, this Committee without their help and assistance would not be able to achieve this success. We sincerely thank everyone for their contributions and wish the new incoming Committee a better success in the years to come. Thank you Cyril Martin
